Educational Philosophy
 mission
I support the Lakewood mission statement by striving to make learning enjoyable for students in my classroom everyday while building a strong level of rapport.  In combining "old school" or traditional methods with "best practices" and technological tools, teachers are able to create multi-faceted lessons that facilitate an educational experience in all subject areas and reach learners on a variety of levels.

Educational Philosophy:

An educator's role in the classroom goes beyond that of teaching the core academics.  On a daily basis, even in our small community of Twin Lakes, I realize the population of children that enter my classroom is quite diverse.  Because of this realization, I try to maintain a certain level of classroom structure but still allow for the unique backgrounds and personalities that walk through my door every morning. I try to be fair in both academics and discipline, but realize that "fair" doesn't always mean "equal".  Teachers nurture more than the mind; we also influence the body and soul. This influence comes with responsibility.
