Educational Philosophy:
My philosophy of education is fueled by two main practices: mastering skills and developing good citizens. To master skills in music, it is essential that students practice and dedicate time to their choice of becoming a musician. The students who practice and use the concepts that are discussed during class usually are the most successful and have the most fun making music. Being part of an ensemble also improves an individual’s responsibility, accountability, time management, social interactions, work ethic, reading ability, and an overall appreciation for life’s many opportunities. I work hard to incorporate many methods of teaching in the classroom to help all students learn, as we all learn best in different ways. I think by exploring these foundations students become knowledgeable & talented musicians and well-rounded individuals with a desire to continue learning.
